Course Description:

This course is an advanced course for those who seek to carry their firearm concealed. The prerequisite for this Outside the Home Course is the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home course. If you did not take the PPITH class from me, email a copy or bring your NRA PPITH course certificate to the first day of class!

This course deals with concealed carry techniques, presentation of a firearm from concealment, defensive shooting techniques, firearms and ammunition selection, clearing handgun stoppages, and other subjects of interest to gun owners. The content of this course dealing with identifying and avoiding potential threats and enhancing personal security will benefit gun owners and non-gun owners alike.
Responsible individuals know carrying a concealed handgun for protection is a HUGE responsibility and a decision that should not be made lightly. You need to take practical, defensive handgun training including live-fire drills, and practice regularly to better your chances of being effective. This course is designed toward that goal.

This course includes range time instruction with students' own firearm or MFL rented firearms (rental fee is an additional cost), targets, eye and hearing protection are included at no cost. Students will need pen and paper on both days of class. The course's range time occurs on both days of class as well. MFL Range ammunition is required for rentals at an additional cost. If you are bringing your own handguns, you may also bring your own ammo. Students will need about 100 to 250 rounds each (we will modify all drills to keep the round count low). Students will also need a strong-side hip holster, 2 mags or speed-loaders.
